TruTake is a record-keeping app designed for UK sole traders and small businesses. This Privacy Policy explains what data is collected, how it is used, and your rights.

2. What Information We Collect

A. Information You Enter Into the App

TruTake stores the following information when you use the app:

  • Business name
  • Income entries
  • Receipt entries
  • Tax deducted amounts
  • Uploaded receipt images
  • Accountant email address (if you choose to send a pack)

This information is entered by you.

B. Account & Subscription Information

If you subscribe through Google Play:

  • Payment processing is handled by Google.
  • We do not receive or store your card details.
  • We only receive confirmation that an active subscription exists.

3. How Your Data Is Stored

TruTake is designed to prioritise privacy:

  • Your financial records are stored locally on your device.
  • Data is not stored on TruTake servers.
  • Backups are stored in your chosen cloud storage (e.g. Google Drive), under your own account.
  • We do not have access to your backup files.

4. Sending Information to Your Accountant

When you choose to send a pack:

  • A PDF summary is generated on your device.
  • The PDF is sent using your email application.
  • We do not store or process that PDF on our servers.

Once sent, handling of the email is subject to your email provider’s policies.


5. Data Security

We take reasonable steps to ensure the app is secure.

However:

  • You are responsible for securing your device.
  • You are responsible for securing your email account.
  • You are responsible for securing your cloud backup account.

6. Analytics & Tracking

TruTake does not:

  • Sell your data
  • Share your financial records
  • Use your financial data for advertising

If analytics tools are used in future versions, they will not access your financial entries.


7. Children’s Privacy

TruTake is not intended for use by individuals under 18 years of age.


8. Your Rights (UK GDPR)

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

  • Access your data
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Delete your data
  • Withdraw consent

Because your data is stored locally on your device, you can delete all data at any time by deleting the app.
